After a great deal of consideration, I've decided to re-open donations for the RP-Haven family of websites to try to defray some of the cost of keeping the server going.  If you'd like to contribute to the fund, just click the 'donate' link above and fill out the information requested (the process requires use of paypal... I don't have the capacity to take credit card payments directly).  Any amount you can contribute would be extremely welcome.

The site(s) currently costs $359 per year to run.  If we reach that number before the bill comes due again next April, I will remove the donate link.  I'm not looking to make a profit here, just defray the costs a bit to those who might want to contribute.

Hey everyone, it's good to be back!

  I was an officer in the Gray Order back in the pre-launch days under the name Fayore.  I'm looking forward to coming back for the long-haul :) .  How is the RP community holding up? Where is the strongest community these days? Also, my friend and I were intreagued by the new server rule-set coming out next month and are interested in giving it a shot.  Will any individuals (or guilds) be moving over there?

I've been in several guilds over the years, and have created several characters, several storylines, and also lost a lot of my work when changing guilds or sites have shut down.

I thought I'd create a place for me to store all my work (rather than a flash drive since I easily forget those things) and my idea developed into a site for any roleplayer, any writer, to join and get help or share their work.

Hello All RPers from North America. 

I was just browing the official US forum when I discovered your "Haven". I thought It would be nice to say hello. 

I am from a small but long establish guild on the EU server Aquilonia called Dark Desires. We have worked hard to make the RP better on our server. There has been some good and bad times but mostly always fun times. 

If any of you have characters on the EU servers, make sure to come visit us on Aquilonia. 

I will follow this forum, and maybe one day be able to RP with some of you.

Alright, the time has come to shut down aoc.rp-haven.com.  I plan to take things down a week from today on Friday, December 17th.  That should give people enough time to make backups of any creativity they may have here.

The site started up on May 30, 2008 and served about 300 roleplayers from AoC, from Hyperborea to Cimmeria and beyond, with about 604 (now 605) new threads posted by its users.

We have sister sites for Shadow Council and Emerald Dream in World of Warcraft, as well as for Fallen Earth.  If you're playing in any of those spots, come by and pay us a visit there.

Thank you, everyone who contributed to the site or just lurked and read the wonderful creativity here.  It was a great ride.

Alright, this site hasn't been used since October and I understand even the last holdouts among roleplayers in AoC are drifting off (except on Wiccana, which I believe still has its own fan site for RP).

With this in mind, I don't really see any reason to continue Age of Conan's RP-Haven site.  Thoughts from anyone out there who might still be listening?

As I'm no longer playing AoC any more and it doesn't look like its likely I'll return, I'm opening the floor for volunteers to Moderate this site.  It won't cost you anything, nor do you need any serious technical skill (I'll still handle that side of things).  You will need to meet the following requirements:

• Actively playing Age of Conan
• Participating in the roleplaying community on Cimmeria or Wiccana (if there's one on another server, of course, I'm open!)
• Have an established history of being level-headed and/or not a polarizing figuring in the RP community.

Your duties, as a Moderater, will be to promote the website in AoC (forums and in-game), recruit RPers to join and write their journals and to handle any major problems or violations of the rules of the site (I may give some advice from time to time there, but I tend to be very hands-off when I've got a solid Moderator team going).

I'm currently fighting a war with some spammers who're getting past CAPTCHA.  I may have deleted an actual post or two by accident.  If you see a post of yours that's missing, please repost it!

The snow clung to the fiery curls of the man's beard like the most tenacious burrs or brambles.  The blue paint on his face had long since cracked and flaked to be nearly unrecognizable.  Had it once been a bird?  Hard to tell.  His thick furs held much of the winter's offal as did his gloved hands and large scabbard.  As he walked south through the swirling blizzard, he half hoped one woman had moved on and forgotten him... and half hoped she would be waiting to give him the worst tounge lashing he'd ever recieved...   A small smile quirked the corner of his mouth, and he trudged ever south... back toward civilization...

Next Wednesday, November 11th, the web server will come down in the morning for the installation of a new operating system.  If everything goes as expected, I plan for the site to be back up by noon.  I'll be working to backup everything over the next week, but you should likely go ahead and back up anything truly precious to you (if you don't already have a copy somewhere).  I fully expect everything to come back up as you see it now, but I don't want anyone to lose their creativity because of a technical error.

I plan to lock down RP-Haven during the day Tuesday so I can back up the database without people adding blogs and updating things, etc.

She awoke with a start. Something wasn’t right. “Keptah…” she breathed.


Sitting up in her bed, she looked out her open window into the night sky. She could see the stars, beautiful against the dark expanse. She could no longer feel his presence. He was gone.


She suddenly felt a strong sinking feeling in her chest. It was like nothing she had ever felt before. She quickly cast a simple spell and realized that she was healthy. What could this feeling be? She had heard others talk of love sickness… but surely that could not be what this was. Then again… could it?

The Stygian High Council will convene in Nakeset Village to make preparations for war.  All high priests of recognized noble houses are asked to represent.

Is it possible to embed a chat room into the haven?

I think this would be a good place to do some lve event coordination.

*** After their run in with Amtexa from the Grey Knights, Keptah and
Cymera seek refuge in their Guild City of Hus in Poitain.  They walk to the large study in the Library.***

*** Keptah summons one of the students and instructs him to take Cymera to her room and ensure that she is comfortable.***

[Keptah]: "Cymera?"

[Cymera]: yes?

[Keptah]: "About the scene back there... You do know... that I never meant what I said... about you being nothing to me..."

[Cymera]: *she looks at him almost tenderly* i know that

[Keptah]: **He bows his head in respect.** "I just... was hoping you knew this... And I apologize for letting my anger get the best of me..."

[Cymera]: do not worry... it was justified... *she grimaces* amtexa turned out to be just like the others

[Keptah]: "You must understand..."

"Its fer the best..." 

Doc said as he trudged on through the snow.  He sounded more like he was trying to convince himself than the horse he appeared to be talking to...

"She'll hate me... She'll move on... an' She'll be happy an' safe, right?" 

He pets the horse's mane, trying to calm himself.  It doesn't seem to be working.  He frowns and rubs his eyes as he continues to trudge uphill, moving farther and farther into the mountains.
