Misc. Quirks: Will often sit and contemplate - an odd thing for a Cimmerian to do.

History:

Ahearn was born to the Pict-Killer Clan in Western Cimmeria, bordering the Pictish Wilderness. From the get go he was always destined to be a shaman, and he trained in such ways, learning herbal remedies as early as ten years of age. He trained in the warhammer, the club, and the maul, and quickly became skilled. He avoided heavier armor, instead focusing on drawing his defenses from the earth - using mud to hide cuts, using stones as distraction. Quickly he became a man, and while he did not participate in Venarium, he heard the tales from his father quite often.

Eventually however, the Picts became the least of Cimmeria's worries. As the Vanir began to pour into Cimmeria, Ahearn and several others left the clan with honor and consent to help other clans with their needs in the fights with the Vanaheim raiders. While many fell, Ahearn perservered, helping Gaud, Galla, and Taur among others. It was during the rough winters and summers that a young Ahearn mated with a woman named Aurnia, a half Aesir, half Cimmerian woman. They had a son, and for five years managed to live somewhat "comfortably" despite the wars with the Vanaheim dogs.

Tragedy struck however, when Hyperboreans came from the east, and raided the camp Ahearn, Aurnia, and young Aidan were staying at. Ahearn was brutally beaten down by the Hyperborean Gurnahki warriors, Aurnia was slain, and Aidan died in the hut he was sleeping in when the Hyperborean Sorcerors lit it on fire. The Gurnahki would have slain Ahearn if not for his kinship with the spirit of the bear - a kinship which extended to several bears throughout Cimmeria. One such bear attacked the Gurnahki, giving Ahearn a chance to fight, and man and beast slew the horrific monsters.

Lost, without his family, Ahearn returned home to find a dead clan - the Pict-Killers had been overrun by the Picts. With only his duty as a shaman left, Ahearn turned his attention on the strongest clans: Gaud, Murrough, Taur, Galla, and Conarch amongst others. For years he rotated between these five clans, tending to their sick and wounded. Despite all the tragedy however, Ahearn never gave up on life, and was determined to one day get his revenge - which came when Ahearn led a raiding party to Hyperborea.

It was in this raid that Ahearn would taste retribution, when he met the very sorcerer that slew his son face to face. His spiked maul blew out the Hyperborean's left leg out, and Ahearn's rage hit a peak. The shaman's hands grabbed the side of the sorcerer's head, and tore it from the neck, pulling the spine with him. The raid was a victory, and several Cimmerian captives were freed.

Not long afterwards, Ahearn joined the Snowhawk Clan, where he quickly became an asset to their battles against the civilized forces of Imperium. For several months Ahearn worked as a shaman within the Snowhawks, and during this time he met Carnella, and branched out, and began to learn of the civilized ways in the event he needed the knowledge. He met Allomi, and quickly formed a fondness for the southern woman.

Soon, Ahearn felt his heart tug as he found the remains of his mother's old clan - the Elkhorn. When he saw the great Elkhorn Lodge had remained standing, the shaman knew what he had to do. He left the Snowhawk village, and took up a greater calling. He would bring Cimmerians together... he would raise the banner of the Elkhorn Clan.

Cool write up.  I really think its a good think that the cimmerians share their stories.  My only comment since you said you wanted critque is that hyperborea is a server and hyboria is the land we play in.....maybe it was a joke referencing the supposed server merge and if so I applaud your ooc/ic - ism.  If not its a typo :)

Tragedy struck however, when Hyperboreans came from the east,

Tall, Gaunt, Pale skinned. Gurhnaki fat lards. Not a joke at you guys, just using the lore of Hyboria ;)

Time frames can get a bit jumbled but this suited very well. Well done.
