The Elkhorn Clan

The Elkhorn Clan is a Heavy Roleplaying, Moderate PVP Clan in Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures on the Cimmeria Server. We are focused on bringing Cimmerian life to fruition in a roleplay setting, and as such, sometimes you may find us in Taverns, the market in Conarch, or the wilds of the Eigolophians! This also means that you will see us engage in PVP (Player vs. Player) which will include, and is not limited to attacking people on the road, killing foreigners, and fighting enemy clansmen. Sieges, Raids, and other game activities will also be embrace whole-heartedly.
"Clan Elkhorn is a clan that has been around since the days of Venarium - when the King of Aquilonia was a boy... and did not forsake his kin. However, time has taken its toll, and the original Elkhorn Clan faded. Vanir. Picts. Hyperboreans. Aesir. Nature itself. The tribe died out, and was no more. In recent days however, our Chieftain, Ahearn, born into the Pict-Killers and recently departed from the Snowhawks, has raised the clan name again. His mother was an Elkhorn, and so too is he now.
We are not a normal Cimmerian Clan. No... we have different goals... different aims. We do not simply seek to survive. Our Chieftain has deemed it important to secure Cimmeria, and in doing so, disarming the south of the corruption that makes civilization so treacherous, so weak. Those who are Aquilonian men at arms, archers, or rogues... perhaps even priests, may find their way into our settlement. They must agree to forsake the comforts of civilization, and take up a code of honor. In doing so, they become part of the clan, Cimmerian or not.
We will purge the north of the Vanir, Hyperboreans, and Picts. We will conquer Atzel's raiders, and slay the giants. We will venture into the southern lands and slay those who would bring politics and raise them above honor and battle. We will break the backs of slavers, and slay those who would speak sorcery.
We will prevail. We are Clan Elkhorn."

Fireside Tales has Arrived! Located in Cimmeria, every week the Elkhorn Clan will host Fireside Tales, where all are welcome to come, tell their tales and deeds, sing songs and dirges, and feast and share company! Be warned however, that trouble will be dealt with swiftly. Sorcery of all kinds - whether Necromancy or Demonology will be retaliated against with lethal force!

Chapter V - Tholgrim Rising

I remember...
The war host of Adharca Cathair lined the walls, awaiting the command of the Chieftain. Warriors, hunters, shaman of all ages, of all experience, eagerly awaited battle. The sounds of the Hyperboreans, they were close. Too close. They were getting closer to Adharca Cathair, and getting closer to their goal. Everyone in the clan had been alerted to the presence of the tomb underneath what was the Great Hall. Everyone knew the stakes now. Either the Hyperboreans lived, or the Elkhorn lived. Either way, blood would be spilled, a battle would be fought, and people would die. The silent intensity the Cimmerians were known for reigned supreme, even as the shapes of the Chieftain, the Lawgiver, the Trialmaster, and several other hunters and warriors emerged from the barracks. It was time no doubt.

So, I figure, this post might be good here, since on the Age of Conan forums, people love to flame RP Discussions. Anyway, I thought it might be good to give my own thoughts, experiences, and even "tips" for surviving Hyboria, and thriving in it, as a roleplayer. One of the first things I want to point out, is that while I play on Cimmeria, this entry is for all Roleplayers. BUT... and I will say but, I do address the PVE community first. And so.

The air was crisp and cold outside the village as the wind blew, the sudden gale bending tree limbs until they snapped. Frost was in the air, and snow on the ground. It was winter, and the Elkhorn Clan of old was feeling it press upon them.
Bearach grunted as he looked out on the horizon... scouts had reported sightings of Vanir in the area, lurking about the woods. If there was an invasion of the village, he would see to it that every able bodied man and woman if need be would go and fight. It was the Cimmerian way. The barbarian knew something was stirring, but he didn't know just what. Perhaps it was Vanir... maybe it was the Picts.
